This comic-style retelling of the myth of Jason and the Argonauts is suitable for young (pre)readers of all ages, so long as they won’t tear the pages. Each page is broken up into two tiers of boxes, like the old-school Sunday funnies comic strips. The narrative is true to the myth, but it’s condensed into short episodes of silly shenanigans. The violence is cartoonish, too; just check out the Argo’s big eyes! The modern Greek text serves more as captions to the images than as a narrative, but it is a little idiomatic and may be challenging to second language learners. Still, the pictures tell the story, and I think that even young readers will enjoy using them to make up their own versions! – Krishni Burns
