The Son of Neptune is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. The story takes us through an interesting adventure with Percy Jackson. Having suffered from really bad amnesia, Percy somehow ends up in Camp Jupiter, the Roman version of the Greek Camp Half-Blood. Percy, Hazel (daughter of Pluto), and Frank (son of Mars), have to work together to defeat new monsters, and put their heads together to get to safety.

I especially enjoyed this book because of the way it shows both similarities and differences between the Roman and Greek perspectives on the gods, war, and heroes. This book is also just as funny as any Rick Riordan book tends to be—with, as always, the same amount of seriousness and suspense.

I would most definitely recommend this book to other readers, especially those who really enjoyed the original Percy Jackson Series. This is such a cool light to see Percy Jackson in because he is forced to react a different way than we are used to. It was so good I ended up buying a copy so I can have it handy whenever I want to do a quick little reread of this wonderful book.– Vidya Devarajulu
